I've been a lifelong artist, but my journey into painting animals began with a deep passion for wanting to know more about them. I hold two degrees in Biological Science combining my knowledge of animals with my passion for painting. My favorite activity is traveling to exotic destinations to chase sea animals through the ocean with my camera capturing reference photos that I can paint from.
In this painting called, "Mother's Day" inspired by research I participated in off the coast of Belize, the mother and baby dolphin are enjoying family time together. Dolphins are very social animals that form strong family bonds. By the way, the starfish (lower left) and the dolphin share approximately the same life span of 35-40 years. Isn't that cool?
I believe that art equals pure joy, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share that joy with others through my paintings.
